The Creative Forum is a project to support the visibility, communication and networking of Central Finnish creative expertise.

The Creative Forum

• organises versatile networking opportunities for   specialists in creative industries,
• relays information and communicates about Central Finnish creative expertise on a national and international level,
• supports the specialists’ own internationalisation and networking attempts,
• establishes relations between creative specialists and other activists in the community, and
• reinforces the status of creative industries in overall regional development work.

To support the visibility and marketing of Central Finnish creative expertise, we have established an internet site, www.luovapaja.fi, where you can find information about local creative specialists, events, cultural sites, organisations, educational opportunities and research. So far, the site is available only in Finnish, but we are planning to open an English version as well.

Creative specialists will also have the opportunity to attend meetings, workshops and seminars that are specific to a particular art field, have a regional focus or are all-encompassing.

The Creative Forum will collect information and produce tools for a follow-up system of the creative field by conducting interviews that cover the entire province. An entrepreneurial register and database will be compiled based on the results and information from the interviews will form the basis for necessary development measures.

The Regional Council of Central Finland, with support from the European Regional Development Fund, will carry out and fund the activities of the creative forum.
